Description:Main Purpose:The Offshore Superintendent performs and coordinates all assigned project management functions, including but not limited to liaison between company and customer(s) on-site inspectors, the direction of project scheduling and yard operations, communication on project status with management, project cost with corporate accounting, and completion of assigned projects within allotted periods and profit projections.Essential Functions:Review project contracts and ensure an in-depth working knowledge of job specifications, material requirements, completion dates, etc.Coordinate and direct project activities with appropriate operational personnel to ensure an open flow of communications avoiding delays, cost overruns, fabrications errors, etc.Maintain positive liaison with customers, on-site customer inspectors, and management to ensure an open line of communication regarding customer concerns, complaints, change orders, and follow up accordingly with all applicable company management supervisorsAssist the client in developing work packs, associated budgets, and execution sequencesCommunicate with the Project Manager regarding the scheduling of material delivery, material specifications, origins, and the cost to ensure coordination of operational functions and timely receipt of materials in that both will comply with contract specifications and schedulesReview and approve work schedules for assigned projects, material requisitions, percent completed schedules/reports, and requests from operations regarding specification requirementsWorks closely with project managers for production planning, schedule, budgets, and progressAssists offshore management in developing schedules and maintaining schedules once offshoreCapable of leading large quantities of personnel and third-party contractors as one teamCapable of setting tracking criteria for key personnel to follow and developing a tracking form needed for such trackingMaintain positive customer relations, facilitating two-way communications between management and the customerEnsure that material and equipment needs are properly planned and staged in advance of the work to assure an efficient workflowReview schedule, budgets, and work order report to provide feedback on project progress.Team leader in safety and knowledge of all company policies and proceduresFosters communication, planning, and personal accountability to foreman, leader man, and craft personnelAccountable for assuring proper completion of JSA's and compliance with safety protocolsAble to pull measurements and draw/make drawings on ISO paperBenefits Offered:Earned Wage AccessHealth, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) with Company MatchPaid HolidaysPaid VacationLife InsuranceDisability InsuranceSafety AwardsCompany StoreEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Requirements:Physical Requirements:StandingWalkingTurning, twisting, bending, and stoopingPushing and PullingReaching, forward and overheadClimbingBalancing, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeingLifting - employees must lift to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 poundsJob Requirements:General understanding of OSHA / BSEE regulations for the construction / offshore industryGood working knowledge of computers and software, specifically Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screenMust be able to pass a background checkValid TWIC cardDesirable Experience, Education, and Training:2+ years experience in leading an offshore crewHighschool diploma or GEDBilingual (Spanish and English) is a plusTools, Equipment, and Technology:Office equipment and computer softwareMicrosoft Office SuiteEnvironmental Conditions:80% to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc. They may also be exposed to fumes (Paint, paint thinners, diesel or gas, etc.)Gulf Island will not sponsor applications for work visas.
